LICENSED MILLWRIGHT/INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC/MACHINIST

SCOPE OF POSITION

The candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, fixing breakdowns, equipment improvements and new equipment installations. Rotation 12-hour shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritize, plan, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Perform scheduled downtime repair and overhaul of plant equipment.
  • Perform installations, as necessary.
  • Accurately and quickly diagnose breakdowns and perform the necessary work to prevent downtime or return the plant to production.
  • Ensure that all activities are properly logged.
  • Care for maintenance department tools and equipment.
  • Make recommendations on changes to equipment and production processes.
  • Communicate on equipment problems and opportunities related to production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Report all unsafe working conditions to management or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have valid license/certificate (millwright/industrial mechanic/machinist)
  • High school diploma
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, MIG welding...)
  • Have a basic knowledge of industrial electricity.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Valid driver’s license

PROCESS ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Manager - Canada, this position will be responsible for participating and leading fulfillment process optimization.

Job Duties and Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate/lead fulfillment process optimization/re-engineering efforts (if necessary) developing as-is-and to-be process flows
  • Facilitate design sessions
  • Communicate best practices in distribution operations
  • Leading integration analysis of all systems processes on site and impact on work streams
  • Expert on strategies to size and configure to maximize product flow at each step in the order fulfillment process
  • Support Quality Improvement Projects with project owners while ensuring long term sustainable solutions are provided
  • Develop process improvement projects an initiative, including improvement of process for root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action
  • Support the implementation of process improvements on key initiatives with measurable results

Required credentials:

  • 2-5 years supply chain management experience
  • Experience in a fast paced, large volume, high Sku count environment, with strong focus on meeting/exceeding measurable metrics
  • Technical competency in Six Sigma; Lean, Kaizen/Work-out, process management, change management and advanced statistical analysis a plus
  • Prior project management experience is necessary
  • Experience working/managing in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in a fast-paced, large volume, high-intensity environment, with strong focus on meeting/exceeding measurable metrics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

SALARY

  • $50,000 - $57,000

ROTATING SHIFT FOREMAN

SCOPE OF POSITION

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the DC Foreman is responsible for satisfying customer requirements and needs by producing quality products. He/she will also oversee transportation logistics and ensures products are delivered on time and according to regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor employees’ performance
  • Coordinate all requirements to meet production and distribution schedules
  • Ensure terms and conditions of collective agreement are consistently applied/li>
  • Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain records of daily production
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required
  • Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns or licensing issues
  • Interact and support internal clients, Customer Service, and others
  • Effectively collaborates with the Customer Service team to meet or exceed customers’ expectations
  • Liaise with external clients, vendors, carriers, and drivers
  • Conducts continuous analyses of truck and driver assignments and analyses scheduling for possible consolidation, reviews, and revises driver schedules to increase efficiency and to lower costs
  • MTO and Customs Compliance
  • Coordinate all outbound shipping, backhauling, racking, loads, cost effectively, minimizing KM
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • Minimum successful completion of grade twelve
  • Diploma in related field (Customs) an asset
  • College/University Diploma in Business, Customer Service, or any related field or equivalent experience
  • Essential knowledge of logistics, transportation, and distribution industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX an asset
  • Industry knowledge (Millwork/Building Material, Moulding, construction) an asset
