Prior to installing Simple Tread remove all existing carpet, nails and staples. Cut off the bull nose and ensure the edge of the existing tread is cut flush to the face of the riser. Be sure to repair any damaged dry wall and finish any exposed stringer before you proceed to the installation.

Using a beveled square measure, the angle of the existing riser then measure the length. Transfer the measurements to the Simple Tread riser and cut accordingly. Apply construction adhesive to the back and fasten to the existing riser with fishing nails ensuring it is level.
