Block Production
All wood ripped and optimized is collected and sorted according to widths and thicknesses. These similar sized wood pieces called blocks are further sent along the production process to be joined into longer pieces without the natural defects that were part of the original lumber.
Blocks are transported via conveyor to have finger joints incised into the wood.
Once the blocks have male and female finger joints grooved into them a water based adhesive is applied and the pieces are pressed together under hydraulic pressure for an optimum connection.
Once they are finger jointed, they are known as blanks and placed into inventory for future production or moved directly into production. If necessary, they are further resawn into finger joint blanks of a differing size.
